Kuks
Get to know the Baroque period first-hand as Count F. A. Špork knew it himself! The pearl of the Czech Baroque, the Kuks Hospital, promises an extraordinary experience! There is a lot to admire. Whether it be the hospital building with the monumental Church of the Holy Trinity, a set of statues of Virtues and Vices or a cascading staircase. The herb garden will catch your eye while the corridor with the dance of death scenes and the original pharmacy "U granátového jablka" will be wedged into your memory. We recommend visiting the nearby Braun's Nativity Scene.
Pecka
Pecka is a medieval castle with an extensive cellar, torture chamber and black kitchen. You will find it in the small quiet town with the same name. You won´t miss it, because it is the dominant feature of the local landscape. There are also interesting places in the small-town centre and nearby. The church of St. Bartholomew is not far from the town square, from the castle you can stroll through the forest to the lookout point, a place from where you can enjoy the wide panorama of Krkonoše. On hot summer days, tourists will benefit from the Pecka swimming pool and camp.
Dvůr Králové nad Labem
Would you like an African safari or Christmas in summer? You can find all this and much more in the royal dowry town of Dvůr Králové nad Labem. The city is surrounded by natural and historical gems interwoven with many cycling and hiking trails. We invite you to visit the exhibition of Traditional Christmas Ornaments Production or the exposition of Textile Printing. You can rest, cool down and soak in the atmosphere of the 1930s at Tyrš swimming centre, and if you are a fan of "beer tourism", we recommend a visit to the Tambor brewery. You also should not miss the historic centre with the church of St. John the Baptist, where the legend of the famous manuscript discovery originated.
Miletín
During your journey through the Krkonoše region you shouldn´t miss Erben's hometown of Miletín. To this day you can find the house where the writer was born. The educational K. J. Erben trail of the same name entertaining both children and adults, starts from here. While exploring the town, it is a good idea to visit the square as well, where you can buy a famous sweet cake called the Miletínská modlitbička (gingerbread delicasy) in the cafe or regional beer from the local mini brewery. And if you would like to spend a relaxing holiday here, take advantage of accommodation available in the camp.
Hořice
Hořice is the town full of sandstone statues and monuments, well known sugar snaps and motorcycle races! You will come across many historical sites here, literally at every step. One of the town landmarks, Masaryk's Independence Tower, will attract your attention, and on the opposite side you will see the cemetery portal on Gothard Hill, where you will also find a unique open-air gallery of sculptures from the local stone masonry college. In the hot summer, you can cool off and experience the First Republic atmosphere at the Dachova swimming pool. The Czech Road Racing Museum will fascinate all motorsport lovers. The children will not get bored here, just take them to the Chlumíček or Trubička trail. While having an enjoyable time you will also learn a lot of useful information. That's not all, Hořice offers much more.
Lázně Bělohrad
The spa town Lázně Bělohrad, birthplace of the writer Karel Václav Raise offers peace, relaxation and active rest at the same time. Rich deposits of peat gave the city the basis for the construction of peat baths, which are still widely popular. Even lovers of historical sites will be happy since there is a chateau in the city centre, where in its orangery Karel Václav Raise Memorial is located. The educational trail "In the footsteps of K. V. Rais to Zvičina" is also dedicated to the writer and leads from the town to the top of the dominant region, the hill called Zvičina. You can go hiking along the nature trail "Kamennou hůrou a částí Lázně Bělohrad". Bělohrad is an ideal starting point for hiking and cycling trips, and the nearby Byšičky hill with the church of St. Peter and Paul became the inspiration for K. J. Erben to write the ballad "Wedding Shirt".
