Beet harvest - or Why Rýbrcoul counts beets
Many know that Rýbrcoul is the ancestor of Krakonoš and what he has in common with beetroot. Rýbrcoul = Beet Counter - German Rübezahl, Polish Liczyrzepa. But you will find out why this is so in one of the theatrical performances.
You can also look forward to a town full of animated creatures - devils, fairies, gnomes, goblins, hedgehogs, robbers and others. You can play games with the creatures, dance, or just have your picture taken with them. They will be everywhere from the theatre UFFO through the Promenade, Small Square, the market and St. John's Square to Krakonoš Square. But robbers can ambush you anywhere in the city, so watch out.
There will be concerts, workshops, theatre and activities for children around the theatre UFFO, on the Promenade and at the market. You'll see local and out-of-town groups and bands. There will be a "dragon" programme at Krakonoš Square.

Taste beetroot specialities
Beetroot (in this case the red one) is a great food, so it would be a shame not to try the various beetroot specialities. Everyone has probably tried borscht, but do you know about chocolate cake with beetroot or potato salad with beetroot? Beetroot specialities will be available at special stalls at the theatre UFFO and in the city centre, as well as in some businesses.
