Krakonoš – Rýbrcoul
This mythical “lord of the mountains” is inseparably linked with Trutnov and it’s right here with us.
Let´s start with Krakonoš Square and a fountain in the centre. Only a few visitors to the city know that the man on the rock in the middle of the fountain is Krakonoš, as the locals used to imagine him at the end of the 19th century.
Another image called Rýbrcoul is displayed at the roundabout on the way out of town towards the mountains. Did you know that this oldest interpretation of Krakonoš is captured by Helwig's map from 1561? But this is an ancient image of Krakonoš.
Nature trail Rýbrcoul
