Advent in Trutnov
The darkest time of the year, the season of Advent and the anticipation of Christmas, is lit up with lots of lights and glittering decorations - both indoors and out. Of course, there are also gatherings at events, concerts and markets, all imbued with the Christmas atmosphere. This is no different in Trutnov.
Exhibition of nativity scenes
The very first harbinger of the coming Advent is the traditional exhibition of nativity scenes, which starts on 25 November and runs until 11 December, because it is an exhibition of loaned works that the artists want to have back home before Christmas.
Christmas tree
The Christmas tree will be lit on Krakonoš Square on 27 November at approximately 17:15. It will be preceded by a rich programme and a small market with Advent and Christmas goods and refreshments.
Christmas and Advent markets
Christmas markets are also inseparable from Advent. In Trutnov, you can choose from two options - the classic outdoor Christmas market on Krakonoš Square from 9 to 23 December and the craft Advent market in the Uffo Community Centre, which takes place from 8 to 10 December.
Old Bohemian Christmas in the Weaving Museum
Old Bohemian Christmas at the Weavers' Museum in the House under the Ash Tree in Trutnov - Voletiny on 3 December is a creative afternoon where you can make small gifts and decorations yourself under the guidance of experienced lecturers in a fragrant atmosphere underlined by Christmas music.
Pre-Christmas afternoon in the museum
The pre-Christmas afternoon on 8 December in the Museum of Podkrkonoší is a pleasant encounter with Christmas customs and traditions ending with the opening of the charming exhibition Christmas with the smell of gingerbread, which will last until 15 January next year.
Chorea Corcontica
Lovers of Christmas concerts will not miss out either. For them, the Chorea Corcontica mixed choir and its guests have prepared their programme for 12 December.
